Upgrade your agents to V2

A quick guide to keep your Voice AI running smoothly.

When you upgrade a Voice AI assistant from V1 to V2, every phone number attached to it will be automatically removed. You'll need to reattach the number.

If multiple assistants share the same phone number and any of them are still using V1, you'll need to do some extra cleanup before reattaching it.

👍

Tip:

If you don't upgrade your assistants manually, they'll be automatically upgraded to V2 in early May, 2025.

Summary

  1. If only one assistant is using this phone number, just migrate the assistant to V2 and reattach the phone number.
  2. If multiple assistants share the same number, detach it from all assistants, upgrade them to Version 2.0 and then reattach the number.

Step-by-step instructions

Scenario 1: only one assistant using this phone number

  1. In Assistants, select the assistant you want to upgrade.
  2. Go to the Configure tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Under Voice Engine, select Version 2.0. The number will detach automatically.
  4. Go to the Deployment tab.
  5. Reattach the number.

Scenario 2: number attached to multiple assistants (all on V1)

  1. In Assistants, select the assistant you want to upgrade to V2.
  2. Go to the Configure tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Under Voice Engine, select Version 2.0. The number will detach automatically.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for every assistant using this phone number, even inactive ones.
  5. Once you're done, go to the profile of each assistant you want to be using this phone number. Go to the Deployment tab on the left-hand sidebar and reattach the phone number.

👍

Tip:

Make sure there are no V1 assistants that are still using this phone number. Otherwise, you won't be able to attach it to your upgraded V2 assistants.

Troubleshooting

  • If you can't reattach the number, make sure you detached it from all assistants before switching.
  • You won't be able to reattach a phone number to a Version 2.0 assistant if there is a V1 assistant still using this number.
