Migration guide

In-product reselling lets customers create pricing plans in Synthflow, connect Stripe, and bill subaccounts automatically. That capability is being removed on September 15, 2026.

Your own Synthflow subscription and minute pool stay the same. What ends is charging customers through Synthflow: automatic plan billing, minute top-ups from plan rules, and margin calculation against Synthflow’s rate.

Use this page to understand the impact and decide how you will bill and limit subaccounts after the cutoff.

Who is affected

You are affected if you have connected your own Stripe account into Synthflow and you bill your customers using Synthflow’s custom pricing tiers. You can verify this by navigating to Admin → Partner → Pricing Plans, and seeing if you have any pricing plans created.

You are not affected by the billing cutoff if you manage subaccounts without custom pricing plans.

What stays the same

• Your Synthflow plan, invoices, and parent-account minute pool do not change because of this removal.
• Subaccounts, permissions, branding, custom domains, and products continue to work.
• You can still allocate minutes and concurrency with Limits and defaults. After reselling is removed, those controls are the primary way to cap subaccount usage inside Synthflow.

What stops on September 15, 2026

After the deadline (or sooner if you disconnect Stripe yourself):

• Pricing plans under Admin → Partner → Pricing Plans no longer drive billing or automatic plan behavior.
• Customer subscriptions collected through Synthflow stop working. Recreate billing for those customers in your own Stripe (or another billing system) if you still want to charge them.
• Synthflow no longer auto-purchases or auto-top-ups minutes for a subaccount based on a pricing plan.

You can disconnect Stripe from Synthflow before the deadline. If you do not, Synthflow will disconnect it after September 15, 2026.

Operational implications

The following applies if you currently bill subaccounts through pricing plans. After reselling is removed:

No automatic minute top-up

When a customer runs out of allocated minutes, Synthflow will not automatically purchase more for them. You must manually raise their minute limit in Limits and defaults (or per-subaccount limit controls) to unblock the account, and handle any related billing yourself, as long as that customer does not rely on automatic overage.

Those minutes still draw from your parent account pool.

Manual overage billing

If a customer previously had usage-based overage enabled on a pricing plan, Synthflow will no longer bill that overage. You must track usage yourself and invoice the customer outside Synthflow. See Track subaccount minutes below.

No spend controls

With automatic overage gone, nothing stops a high-volume customer from consuming a large number of minutes. You carry that exposure unless you set conservative limits or bill and throttle through your own systems.

Manual margin reconciliation

Synthflow will no longer calculate the difference between Synthflow’s rate per minute and the rate you charged on a pricing plan. Work out your margin and invoice accordingly in your own billing stack.

Track subaccount minutes

Use these options based on what your billing system needs:

• Total usage: The Subaccounts API returns minutes_used, the total minutes consumed by that subaccount.
• Per call: The post-call webhook includes call duration after each call, so you can attribute minutes to an agent or call as it completes.
• Aggregated from history: The Calls API lets you list calls and sum durations yourself when you need custom reporting windows or filters.

Find affected subaccounts

A subaccount is affected if it is subscribed to one of your custom pricing plans. You can find them in any of these ways:

• Subscriptions page: Open Admin → Partner → Subscriptions to list active subscriptions. If you do not see Subscriptions in the sidebar, open any Partner page and set the page query parameter in the URL to subscriptions.
• Subaccounts page: Open Admin → Partner → Subaccounts and check which accounts have an active pricing plan.
• Stripe: Open your Stripe account and review the active customer subscriptions for the product that corresponds to your custom pricing plans.
• API: Call the Subaccounts API and inspect each subaccount’s subscription fields.

What to do before the deadline

This is an awareness checklist, not a required in-product wizard:

1. Find affected subaccounts, including those on trials or usage-based overage.
2. Decide how you will charge those customers after September 15, 2026 (your own Stripe products and subscriptions, invoices, or another system).
3. Decide minute and concurrency caps you will enforce with Limits and defaults once plan limits no longer apply.
4. Optionally disconnect Stripe from Synthflow early once you no longer need in-product billing for customers.
5. Keep custom pricing only as a reference for current setup until the feature is removed.
