About phone numbers
Managing phone numbers in Synthflow AI
Synthflow AI allows you to manage phone numbers for inbound and outbound calls and SMS messaging. You can configure active numbers, addresses, and verified caller IDs in the Phone Numbers tab.
a. Active Numbers
Active phone numbers in Synthflow AI are essential for handling AI-driven interactions. Each agent requires a phone number to function properly. You can manage your numbers through the dashboard, where you can:
- Assign numbers to specific agents.
- Track call and SMS activity associated with each number.
- Configure settings for voice calls and messaging workflows.
Phone number options
Synthflow AI supports various phone number options:
- Purchased numbers: You can buy numbers directly through Synthflow AI for testing. For long-term use, it’s recommended to purchase numbers from Twilio or another SIP provider.
- Geographical availability: You can buy phone numbers in Synthflow from the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Use a telephony provider for local numbers in other regions.
- Assignment: You can use one phone number for one inbound and multiple outbound agents. No two inbound agents can use the same number.
b. Addresses
Addresses are required when purchasing phone numbers in most countries due to regulatory compliance. A valid address must be provided before acquiring a number.
How to set up an address:
- Create an address in the dashboard.
- Assign the address to any phone number that requires one.
- Verify compliance to ensure smooth activation.
Once assigned, the address is linked to your active numbers and can be managed as needed.
Managing your phone numbers
In the Phone Numbers tab, you can:
- View all active numbers and their assigned agents.
- Manage call and SMS logs.
- Assign and update required addresses.
- Validate and track Caller IDs for outbound calls.
